Training
The term training has a very broad spectrum of connotations, but training largely refers to practice and preparation for a particular activity, for example an individual may undergo training to play a sport or training to guide and prepare them for a certain line of work. In order to fully prepare an individual to perform a specific activity at a high level of competence, or ready them for a certain situation then training may be rigorous. Soldiers and other members of the armed services are ideal example of people who will have to undergo very strenuous training in order to fully prepare to be ready to face a number of situations that they could possibly encounter in combat, specialist soldiers such Royal Marines will have to undergo even more intense training as they are expect to perform at an extremely high level under a great deal of pressure.
It is not just people who undergo training; animals are frequently trained by people in order to perform different tasks. For example guide dogs for blind or disabled people will have to undergo highly specialised training in order for them to learn the techniques required to become a suitable animal to help somebody and dogs will be chosen for their intelligence and temperament even before they have undergone any training.
